There is growing recognition that there is much that non-Indigenous Australians can learn from their Indigenous compatriots, both in terms of spirituality and in caring for the Earth. The needs of our Indigenous people also must be addressed much more effectively.

In July 2022, the Plenary Council strongly supported The Uluru Statement from the Heart, which called for greater recognition of our Indigenous peoples through Voice, Truth-telling and Treaty. Nearly a year later, the Federal Parliament has passed legislation for a referendum on an Indigenous Voice to Parliament, which will require Australians to make a critical choice.
